She continued her work as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Research Council (CNR) in Naples and at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, where she specialized in neuroscience.<br \/>\nHer professional path has evolved through the completion of a Second-Level Master\u2019s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Marche Polytechnic University, which has enabled her to combine the scientific knowledge and experience gained over the years in various pathological fields with the tools to optimize the therapeutic potential of nutrition.<br \/>\nTogether with the entire team of the Valter Longo Foundation, she provides daily support to patients from all over the world affected by different medical conditions, helping them integrate nutritional therapy with standard pharmacological treatments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"team_dtls_area\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15527 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionevalterlongo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Progetto-senza-titolo-52.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/figure>\n<div class=\"dtls_area\">\n<h3>SARA LAUDANI<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Chief Medical Officer<br \/>\nMD, Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine MS<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sara Laudani, Medical Doctor, becomes Infectious Diseases specialist and Radiologist at the University of Pavia (Italy) and works in several Hospitals of Lombardy. In 2005, she began to deal with nutrition and nutritional approach to chronic diseases. In 2012 she moved to Shanghai (China) where she became passionate about Traditional Chinese Medicine, became an acupuncturist, and worked as a specialist in Internal Medicine at several International Clinics, where she applied the clinical approach of integrated functional medicine to chronic diseases, in particular metabolic syndrome, autoimmune disease, cardiovascular disease, and in cancer patients. It is at this point in her pathway that she meets the work of Professor Longo that she applies as integrated clinical approach with encouraging therapeutic results. In 2018, she earned the Master\u2019s Degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, with a particular focus on the approach to autoimmune diseases and consolidates the nutritional and integrated approach to chronic diseases. In the same year she opened and directed the Integrated Functional Medicine branch at the Shanghai International Body&amp;Soul Medical Clinics. She earned a Ph.D. at the Universit\u00e9 catholique de Louvain in Belgium, funded by the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). During her academic career, she focused on the study of prebiotics and next-generation beneficial bacteria, analyzing their contribution in counteracting metabolic diseases and obesity through gut microbiota modulation and protection of the intestinal barrier. She collaborated with different health experts, publishing the results of her research in prestigious international scientific journals. Currently, she is part of the Scientific Team at the Valter Longo Foundation, where she actively engages in the prevention and treatment of diseases through interventions related to diet, lifestyle, and the promotion of healthy longevity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"team_dtls_area\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13600 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionevalterlongo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/P9060015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/figure>\n<div class=\"dtls_area\">\n<h3>GHINA AL HAJ<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ph.D., Nutrition Biologist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ghina AL Haj holds a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from University of Milan in Italy focusing her attention on the effect of dietary bioactive compounds and their health implications in metabolic diseases, such as obesity. Her professional career also includes a second level master\u2019s in Food Sciences and Human Nutrition and a bachelor\u2019s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences. Ghina has a considerable research experience and is focusing on how nutrients are used by the body, and the relationship between diet, health, and disease. She completed her internship at the Valter Longo Foundation in Milan, where she had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge in the field of nutrition, specializing in dietary practices aimed at improving health and quality of life.<br \/>\nShe later moved her career to Siena, where she took on the direction of an innovative project dedicated to the care and well-being of the elderly.<br \/>\nShe is currently the Head of the Valter Longo Foundation\u2019s offices in Rome and Florence, where she is involved in nutritional consultations, research projects, and student mentoring in the field of nutrition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"team_dtls_area\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15629\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionevalterlongo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Sfondo-Team-Scientifico-FVL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/figure>\n<div class=\"dtls_area\">\n<h3>MARIATERESA VENUTI<\/h3>\n<p><strong>PhD, Molecular Biologist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Biologist with a background in Neurobiology and Human Nutrition, she completed her PhD in Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Pavia. Her research focused on the diabetes\u2013brain axis, with particular attention to metabolic biomarkers and hippocampal alterations. He carried out a curricular internship at the Valter Longo Foundation actively participating in nutritional support and dedicating himself to research activity. Passionate about finding the right balance between nutrition and health, she began collaborating as a Nutritional Biologist at the Valter Longo Foundation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"team_dtls_area\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13865 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionevalterlongo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Progetto-senza-titolo-25.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"778\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/figure>\n<div class=\"dtls_area\">\n<h3>LAURA SALEMI<\/h3>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Nutrition Biologist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nutrition Biologist, she earned her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Biotechnology with a Biomedical-Molecular focus from the University of Verona, followed by a Master\u2019s Degree in Food and Human Nutrition Sciences from Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome.<br \/>\nDuring her internship at the Valter Longo Foundation, she took part in research projects and nutritional activities, deepening her knowledge of the Longevity Diet and the Fasting-Mimicking Diet, which were the central themes of her thesis.<br \/>\nEnthusiastic about the key role of nutrition in prevention and the promotion of longevity, she actively collaborates with the Valter Longo Foundation, contributing to the dissemination of scientifically based nutritional strategies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"team_dtls_area\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15631\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fondazionevalterlongo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Sfondo-Team-Scientifico-FVL-copia.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"810\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/figure>\n<div class=\"dtls_area\">\n<h3>ROBERTA SANGIORGIO<\/h3>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Nutrition Biologist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She holds a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in General and Applied Biology and a Master&#8217;s Degree in Biology from the University of Naples \u201cFederico II\u201d. Driven by a strong passion for human nutrition, she deepened her expertise in this field by obtaining a Master\u2019s Degree in Clinical Nutrition, followed by a Specialization in Food Science at the University of Rome \u201cTor Vergata,\u201d graduating with top marks and presenting a thesis focused on the study of centenarians, with particular reference to Calabrian centenarians. Over the course of her research career, spanning more than 10 years, she worked at leading international institutes, including the Francis Crick Institute in London, focusing on the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate inflammation, immunity, and cancer progression. Driven by her interest in the connection between nutrition, immunity, and cancer, she earned a Level II Master\u2019s degree in Clinical and Functional Nutrition from the \u201cG. d\u2019Annunzio\u201d University of Chieti-Pescara. At the Valter Longo Foundation ETS, she is a member of the Scientific Team, where she integrates research experience with clinical practice, supporting patients undergoing therapy and high-risk individuals through evidence-based nutritional interventions.
