Professor Valter Longo has thirty years of experience in the field of longevity, nutrition and aging to his credit and is considered one of the leading experts in the field at an international level, following in the footsteps of his mentor Roy Walford, a pioneer of studies on healthy longevity. Valter Longo is currently Professor of Biogerontology and Biological Sciences and Director of the Institute of Longevity of the School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles as well as Director of the Oncology and Longevity Program at IFOM (FIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology ) in Milan. Professor Longo is the founder of the Create Cures Foundation in the United States and the Valter Longo Foundation in Italy.
Antonluca Matarazzo is an Italian qualified Lawyer and Executive Manager with International background and multiple years of experience in business management and development. He has been General Director of the Fondazione Valter Longo since early 2020. He is also Executive Director of the Create Cures Foundation.
Over the course of his career, he has gained considerable experience managing diverse projects and cultivating successful partnerships in countries such as Africa, Europe and UAE, planning strategic and tactical processes, as well as directing specific departments and teams of people.
Before moving to the United States, he has worked on cross-border businesses and transactions in the Renewable energy, Financial, IT and construction sectors and taking on positions of increasing responsibility: In 2008 he was appointed Senior Business Manager in charge of developing a specific business unit in Italy and Poland; From 2012 to 2016 he held the position of Director of the International Department in charge of managing the Development Department in Europe, Africa and UAE, and covering also the role of director of the Board of several subsidiaries; In 2014 he became CEO of a branch of the industrial group in Africa; From 2013 to 2016 he was Managing Director of a subsidiary in Europe; In 2019 he became Executive Director of the Create Cures Foundation in the United States. After obtaining his law degree in 2005 from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, he was admitted to the State Bar of Italy in 2008. He also attended a Master in Business Administration at “24 Ore Business School” in 2007. Fluent in English, French, good understanding of Spanish and Native Italian.
Ph.D., Program Director
Dr. Cristina Villa PhD obtained a PhD from the University of California Los Angeles focusing her attention on traumatic events such as the Holocaust, the importance of memory and respect for human rights, a Masters at the University of Ca ‘Foscari concerning yoga and meditation, a Masters in Italian studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters in English and German studies at the University of Bergamo. His research focuses on the history of food in Italy and in the Mediterranean area and has taught food history courses for the University of Southern California, University of California UCEAP, University of Winscisconsin-Madison, Cornell University and Vanderbilt University in Florence.
Ph.D., Scientific Responsible – Nutritional Biologist
Romina Cervigni PhD, nutrition biologist of the Foundation, obtained a PhD from Open University in the United Kingdom focusing her attention on the field of oncology and a second level Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics. She has collaborated as a postdoctoral researcher with the National Research Committee (CNR) in Naples and the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan.
Fundraising, Marketing and Communication Director
Lucy Tattoli, from Puglia, born in 1976, has twenty years of experience in the non-profit sector and specifically in fundraising. Graduated in law, he perfected his preparation in marketing, fundraising and CSR by attending many specialization courses at SDA Bocconi and the Fundraising school of Forlì; some lectures in specific masterclasses such as the Almed Master Media Relations and carrying out consultancy activities on behalf of the historic Studio Lentati studio. He has held positions of responsibility, coordinating teams with multiple resources and carrying out many missions in Africa on behalf of Italian and international organizations such as Humana People to People, Mani Tese, Save the Children. She is currently registered with ASSIF, the Italian Fundraiser Association and strongly believes in teamwork, one of the major factors thanks to which you can contribute to the success of your non-profit organization.
Visual Specialist & Social Media
Graduated from the Media Design course at the European Institute of Design in Milan, Riccardo is passionate about photography, technology, design, graphics and music. He has participated in several hackathons organized by Deloitte, Huawei and the Lombardy Region and has also taken part in a special project in collaboration with Siemens for the construction of new intelligent housing centers in Milan scheduled for the next few years.
Graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Ferrara, she carried out an experimental thesis at the San Maurizio Regional Hospital of Bolzano on the topic of Diabetes, focusing her research on the tissues of diabetic ulcers. He attended the University of Milan where he obtained his master’s degree in Biology Applied to the Sciences of Nutrition, deepening the biological-molecular aspects of human nutrition.
Corporate Fundraiser Officer
After obtaining her law degree from the University of Bari “Aldo Moro“, Nadia immediately showed a strong inclination in social welfare by dedicating her thesis work to the issue of illegal hiring, in order to critically analyze what represents the biggest problem of labor exploitation. She also attended Fundraising and Crowdfunding’s workshops. Her goal is to grow in an international organization dedicated to the protection of the most fragile and marginalized people. Together with the Foundation team, she will devote herself to corporate fundraising activities with creativity and passion.
